Oil Empire (oilempire.io) is a metaverse game powered by blockchains.
We create virtual oil assets mirrored from the proven reserve of 1,481,526 million barrels on our Earth. These assets are distributed and buried randomly in our land NFTs. Game-players could invest a land NFT to get a share of the total oil reserve in the game.
Those who do not buy lands could pay the landowners an amount of rent (e.g., 10% APY) to access the game.
In the game, players play to exploit their virtual oil assets as much as they want on any land NFT, and earn amazing profit by selling the oil in the game.
There are four types of NFT lands in Oil Empire with 3D beautiful environments powered by virtual reality (Fig. 1), some of which contain large amounts of oil reserves and some geological difficulties as well (such as faults, volcanos, etc.). Players can use drilling tools to overcome the obstacles, upgrade their NFT tools to increase their oil production, and "buy low and sell high" their explored oil to maximize their profits. In addition, players are allowed to lend their NFT lands on our partnered DeFi platform, trade NFT lands, and acquire strategically as many lands as they wish to become a "Tycoon" in Oil Empire.

One day the oil price will be somehow linked with realistic price in the commodity market (Brent Crude or WTI) in a future stage.
We will establish a CarbonDAO. For every million barrels of oil produced on Earth, we will burn 1000 $Petro respectively, to fight climate change. The detailed plan will be released soon.
